Catastrophic Secondary Containment

The patented SCM-FLOW® Catastrophic Secondary Containment Units are designed and installed around oil filled equipment and is specifically designed to capture and contain all of the oil of the oil filled equipment in case of a catastrophic release. The types of SCM-FLOW® Catastrophic Secondary Containment units available include: Berm Units, Metal Vault Units, Moat Units, Trench Containment Units, DOT Head Wall Units, Wall Inserts, and Concrete Vault Units. Our secondary containment units meet the Federal Regulations defined in 40 CFR Part 112, SPCC Compliance, and Stormwater Compliance BMP’s.

Easy to install, the SCM-FLOW® Berm Unit is surrounded by a compacted earthen berm to form a containment area specifically designed to handle each application. Featuring extremely high discharge rates, SCM-FLOW® Berm Units are a great choice for high flow rate outfalls and are a perfect utilization of wasteland property. SCM-FLOW® Berm units are the most cost effective solution in the industry to capture large volumes of oil.
scm-flow-secondary-containment-catastophic-containment-metal-vaultSCM-FLOW® Metal Vault Units were developed to capture the capacity of the oil filled transformer or equipment, in case of a catastrophic release. The SCM-FLOW® Metal Vault Units are installed adjacent to an existing transformer pad or to a pad poured in place and utilizes a galvanized railing system on the concrete pad to direct the oil and water into the SCM-FLOW® secondary containment.
scm-flow-secondary-containment-catastophic-containment-moat-unitSCM-FLOW® Moat Units were developed to capture the capacity of the oil filled transformer or equipment, in case of a catastrophic release. The Moat Units are designed to be utilized on new or retro-fit installations of transformers. They are installed surrounding the entire transformer pad and on new installations, the containment itself becomes the concrete form reducing the cost of the construction and installation of the transformer pad.
Catastrophic-Trench-Containment-Unit-fSCM-FLOW® Trench Containment Units were developed primarily to capture larger volumes of oil in a catastrophic containment area, such as electric utility transmission substation. Easy to install, the SCM-FLOW® Trench Containment Unit may be installed along the fence line inside or outside a substation. SCM-FLOW® Trench Containment Units are a great choice for large capacity, high flow rates for minimum outfall and are a perfect when space is limited for secondary containment. The SCM-FLOW® Trench Containment Units can be expanded if capacity needs increase with upgrades.
Catastrophic--DOT-Head-Wall-Units-fSCM-FLOW® DOT Head Wall Units are designed to utilize site specific drainage. Placing a SCM-FLOW® DOT Head Wall Unit into an existing or new concrete head wall, is quick and cost effective way to achieve secondary containment.
